📌 General Assignment Instructions

  • ⌨️All virtual day assignments must be typed. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted for virtual day work.
  • ✍️All other assignments may be handwritten or typed. If handwritten, they must be extremely neat and legible. Illegible handwriting will not be accepted. Legibility is determined at the discretion of the instructor.
  • 📋Students are encouraged and welcome to bring assignments early on hardcopy for review with the instructor prior to submission. Assignments requiring resubmission cannot be graded higher than 90%.
  • 🕕All assignments are due prior to the start of the clinical day on the day they are due. They must be uploaded to Canvas before clinical starts.

Peds Rotation — Prof. Hoover / Prof. Standish
Physical Assessment, Med Administration & 60 Situational Awareness Pass-Offs
👩‍⚕️ Prof. Hoover May 27

On your first Peds rotation day (May 27), you will pass off three skills with Prof. Hoover: Physical Assessment, Medication Administration, and 60 Situational Awareness. Come fully prepared and practiced -- all three are evaluated on the same day.

  • 🪚Physical Assessment: Review your head-to-toe technique including pediatric-specific considerations.
  • 💊Medication Administration: Review the five rights, pediatric dosing calculations, and safe administration technique.
  • 🎯60 Situational Awareness: Review this framework and be prepared to demonstrate it with Prof. Hoover.
⚠️ Make-Up Policy: Anyone who does not pass these on May 27 will pass them off with Dr. Reese over the weekend. Warning: Dr. Reese is harder than Prof. Hoover -- get them done on May 27.

Identify specific goals you wish to achieve in the remainder of the clinical experience. The essay must be a minimum of one page at 10pt font. References are not required.
